Empoweristan is a digital platform founded by Mohibullah Hakeemi, a published researcher with a Master's degree in International Relations and more than five years of multidisciplinary research and field work experience, including migration, mass deportation, human rights, and humanitarian affairs. It is built around researchers and writers committed to in-depth, evidence-based work, aiming to highlight independent scholars, researchers, and analysts across different regions.

Our Mission

Many scholars, students, and researchers write important work during and after their studies — papers, essays, field research — that never reaches an audience, simply because publishing platforms are costly, slow, or inaccessible. Empoweristan exists to solve that problem: a space to publish serious writing without the barriers.

We are also dedicated to bridging the critical gap between deep scholarly research and the fast-paced reality of current world events. Free from corporate interests and narrow agendas, we provide a platform for rigorous, diverse, and critical voices — helping transform passive consumers of information into engaged, informed citizens who think for themselves.

What "Empoweristan" Means

Empower — To empower means to give someone the confidence, skills, and freedom to take action — to enable individuals to make independent decisions and pursue their own ideas. At Empoweristan, we want to empower individuals to write and express their ideas independently.

-Istan — In traditional etymology, the suffix "-stan" means "land of" or "place of." It historically defined a physical territory bound by borders. For us, "-stan" has evolved — in the modern age, it represents a digital platform: a borderless, intellectual space where knowledge is built, shared, and preserved. Empoweristan is not a geographical location; it is a collaborative environment for those who believe that information is the ultimate tool for agency.
